How many of you have a hard time waiting on God? Caleb here again, and I wanted to pop in to piggy back on some things that Stefanie wrote a post about the other day explaining about why God’s timing is always best and how He always comes through, even when I least expect Him too.
This theme of waiting on the Lord has been so prevalent in our lives as we go through the beginning of 2019. We have so many dreams together with our company and with what we believe the Lord is doing in us. It is so easy to get ahead of ourselves or get discouraged when things just seem like they are stuck. Wrongly, I put the blame on God so many times for things not going the way that I want them to, as if he is planning my demise. Not only is this wrong, but it is not scriptural.
The other night we listened to a sermon by @churchome @judahsmith where he said: “We need to Stop letting our experiences dictate our view of God, and let our view of God dictate our experiences.”
And this hit me like a hammer. Wow, how many times have I let my experiences, the frustrations with circumstances dictate how I view God and his faithfulness?
___
I think this is where we get hung up on God. That He chooses to harm us instead of bless us. People say, “I’m a good person, why are these things happening to me?” And, I would be lying if I said I hadn’t felt the same way at times. The darkness is creeping in, it’s terrifying and often times I don’t know what to do, but THANKFULLY we have a God who gives us hope in the darkness.
___
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11
___
We have a choice, to take our experiences, our circumstances, and take out our frustration with them at God and blame Him for them. Or, we can see God IN our circumstances, and let HIS glory shine around us, and let His LOVE and HOPE carry us through our circumstances. It’s not going to be easy, but I truly believe that our circumstances around us will change if we begin to look at them through the lens of how God loves us.

Do you ever have a hard time waiting? We love hearing from you!
