Do you ever feel tossed back and forth by the wind? And by wind I mean thoughts coming through your mind? Our minds are a battlefield. So many ideas and thoughts pass through them and choosing to believe them or not can make such an impact on our lives and the lives of others. For the last several years I’ve tried to be a lot more aware of the thoughts I think. There are times I can get super anxious and I go back to the things I was dwelling on. Many times they are self-centered thoughts about not being good enough and/or judgmental thoughts. I want to say “No! Not me! I’m a child of God! Each person is made in God’s image. God is loving and forgiving to me and others, let me be more like Jesus.” Many times I need to step outside and look at the beauty and majesty of God’s creation. My worries are so small in the grand scheme of things and so many people are dealing with their own hurts and pains. When I stop thinking so inwardly and start thinking of how to serve Jesus and help others my anxiety decreases. Instead of taking things so personal, I want to focus on love, compassion, gratefulness. Jesus is enough “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Jesus, from Matthew 11:28 Can you lay down some negative thoughts about yourself or others at Jesus’ feet today? Instead of being tossed back and forth by the wind, He is a firm foundation that makes us steady even in the midsts of storms. Love to hear from you?
