For about 10 years my grandpa wrote me about a letter a week. Today if he was still alive he would have turned 89 years old. He was a man that volunteered for over twenty years many times a week, he was hilarious, selfless and could make anyone smile on their worst day.
For a long time I’ve known I wanted to do something special with the hundreds of letters I have from my grandfather, ‘Pappy.’ It’s been two years since the man that was a like a second father to me passed away. The day my Pappy died I read through many of his letters, then put them away and barely looked at them since except for every now and then. I have hundreds of letters in a special container but they are in no particular order. I decided to let fate decide and week by week will pull out a new letter to talk about. I will talk about the lessons I learn, the way I felt/feel and things I hope to do differently in the future. This journey will be very difficult for me, but my hope is that my Pappy’s life will inspire others to live their life to the full (and mine).
I believe this journey will challenge me and anyone coming along with me to grow deeper relationships with God, their families and others.
I would love for you to follow along in opening up letters from the past and seeing the legacy of the future. My Pappy has challenged me in the legacy of love and I'm inviting you to be apart of it. I have made a free PDF with a letter from Pappy, devotional and workbook for you to take part in this journey with me. The first one is about overcoming regret and FOMO. Would love you to share it with anyone you think would be inspired by my Pappy too! 👉Link in bio to get it for free.
