I always need to remember this truth because I've had some enemies in my life. There were some things that happened to me that were impossible to forgive. But, Jesus works well with the impossible, and with Him makes forgiveness possible. The wounds are deep, and I still need fresh truth of love from God to work on bitterness from these things and have fresh love for those who have hurt me. When I look at the scriptures, I'm convicted that I must repent of a slander and gossip I've spoken. I hunger for Jesus even more because it's only by His strength He can make me have love and peace in my heart for those who are doing evil. And that includes myself. I often times have the hardest time forgiving myself, and God is enough to take care of that to. Because of recent events in our country I've been careful to meditate on some very important truths. Each and every one of us are made in God's image and not one who is alive on this earth today is to far gone to have their hearts radically transformed by the love of Jesus. This is what Jesus teaches us, “I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?"-Matthew 5:43,46 Jesus tells us, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”-Mark 11:25 Even on the cross when He was being tortured beyond belief “Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” -Luke 23:34 No matter what race, gender, economic status, or how powerful, famous, etc. that doesn't except them from our forgiveness and love. I pray we can forgive and show love when others have been so hurtful to us and those we care about. Who am I to judge? That's God's job. We have all sinned and fall short of Gods glory, all but Jesus. Love and prayer is what brings lasting change which is possible with God. What do you think? We love to hear from you!
